A University Like No Other
More than 150 years ago, the University of Utah was founded with optimism and foresight. The pioneers who created this great University could hardly have imagined the technological and social changes that have since transformed our world. Yet their vision of a place that would inspire a "perpetual increase of knowledge, science, and intelligence" remains with us today.
As the stewards of their extraordinary vision, we must also look forward. Together we share responsibility for nurturing the University of Utah's continued vibrancy and for directing its continued growth.
It is through innovation and leadership in our classrooms, studios, and laboratories—and through our individual actions—that we will further the University of Utah's position as one of the nation's premier research institutions. Pursuing this goal will require us to act with focus, determination, and creativity.
We have identified hundreds of extraordinary opportunities in areas throughout the University where philanthropic support could make existing programs stronger or could launch bold, new initiatives. These opportunities are grouped into five broad themes outlined below.
